1.1. Cấu trúc và cách dùng Used to lớp 9

Cấu trúc:

• Khẳng định: S + used to + V-infinitive
• Phủ định: S + did not / didn’t + use to + V-infinitive
• Nghi vấn: Did + S + use to + V-infinitive?

Ví dụ:

• I used to play the piano when I was younger, but I haven't touched it in years. (Tôi từng chơi piano khi còn trẻ, nhưng tôi đã không chạm vào nó nhiều năm rồi.)
• She didn't use to exercise regularly, but now she goes to the gym three times a week. (Trước đây cô không tập thể dục thường xuyên nhưng giờ cô đến phòng tập thể dục ba lần một tuần.)

Cách dùng Used to trong tiếng Anh:

• Đề cập đến một thói quen, sở thích trong quá khứ nhưng bây giờ không còn làm nữa.
• Khi muốn nhấn mạnh sự khác biệt giữa hiện tại và quá khứ

Lưu ý: Chúng ta không dùng cấu trúc Used to ở thì hiện tại.

1.2. Cấu trúc và cách dùng Be used to lớp 9

Cấu trúc:

• Khẳng định: S + be + used to + V-ing
• Phủ định: S + be not + used to + V-ing
• Nghi vấn: Be + S + used to + V-ing?

Lưu ý: Chúng ta sẽ chia động từ tobe theo chủ ngữ và thì nhé.

Ví dụ:

• I am used to waking up early because of my job. (Tôi đã quen với việc thức dậy sớm vì công việc của mình.)
• He isn’t used to working long hours. (Anh ấy không quên làm việc lâu.)
• Are students used to studying late into the night during exam periods? (Có phải học sinh quen học muộn về đêm trong thời gian kiểm tra không?)

Cách dùng cấu trúc Be used to

Cấu trúc Be used to Ving dùng để diễn tả sự quen thuộc với một hành động hoặc sự việc nào đó vì bạn đã làm nó rất nhiều lần.

1.3. Cấu trúc và cách dùng Get used to lớp 9

Cấu trúc:

• Khẳng định: S + (modal verb) + get used to + V-ing/N
• Phủ định: S + auxiliary verb/ modal verb + not + get used to + V-ing/N
• Nghi vấn: Auxiliary verb/ Modal verb + S + get used to + V-ing/ N?

Ví dụ:

• She's getting used to the noise of the construction site outside her apartment. (Cô ấy đã quen với tiếng ồn của công trường xây dựng bên ngoài căn hộ của mình.)
• Anna doesn’t get used to waking up early to go to work. (Anna không quen với việc dậy sớm để đi làm.)

Cách dùng cấu trúc Get used to

Cấu trúc Get used to Ving/N dùng diễn tả việc ai đó đã quen với hành động hoặc tình huống nào đó vì họ đã thấy hoặc làm điều đó nhiều lần.

2. Lưu ý quan trọng khi dùng Used to, be used to và get used to
