Why do some people decide to set up their own business?
Sometimes people set up their own business because they have new ideas to execute. Moreover, they feel confident enough to understand the pros and cons of the situation. Some cases it’s just an emergency and in some it is just an experiment.
What are some of the dangers involved in starting a business?
There are many dangers one should keep in mind before opening a business. First and foremost is the probability ratio of how much the business will be successful. Because spending a bag full of money on a startup and failing it for lack of strategy is a waste of time and money.
What are some of things you have to do when running your own business that might not appeal to everyone?
One has to be selfish enough to not share their own strategies. Never start a business in partnership. Also, one should not keep any dues.

According to my friend, during the early years of his parents' business, his father collected plastic bottles, pieces of paper, cardboard, and metals in every household in the neighborhood. His father bought the recyclable wastes of their neighbors for a very cheap price but some declined payment as they were happy that his father collected their wastes.
On the other hand, his mother is the one who contacted major recycling companies in the city. They acted as a supplier to different recycling companies. As my friend told me, in the early 2000s this kind of business was not that common yet, as a result, his parents barely had competitors as suppliers, so it was never a surprise that they could really make a fortune from the trash. It was in the year 2008 when his parents decided to establish their own recycling company, as they could already afford to buy the machines needed for recycling. Since then, their business has continued to prosper and they're able to provide lots of job opportunities to people. The last time I talked to my friend, he told me that he had just taken over his parents' business since they just retired.
I couldn't help myself but be inspired by the story of my friend's family since their business is not only helping people in their community but also the environment and I realized that creativity and perseverance are needed when one wants to start his own business.

Sample 2: Describe a small business that you would like to own/open
You should say
I’d like to talk about a small business idea that I have been considering for a while and that is to open a craft cafe. I would like to rent a property in a popular area where I live, with enough space for a coffee bar, tables inside, a workshop in the back and an outside seating area. This would be a creative environment, for people to come and spend time with their friends or on their own to make something and have a coffee.
The creative space inside would have a workshop area where classes could be held regularly, with those attending paying a small fee. Materials would be available for people to knit, crochet or draw. People could donate craft items too, on a sharing basis, for example, if you bring something to share, you can take something in return. This would encourage people to meet fellow makers and make new friends in the community. So many people now are into crafting that there has been a surge in craft classes in local communities. This cafe would be a dedicated craft cafe space.
I would like to start this business in the next five years if possible, starting out with a small property and then possibly expanding into a larger space if the profits allow. The next step would be to create a learning center next to the workshop so that people could also learn other skills and attend courses there. I have not yet had the time or money to start this business, as quite a lot of money would be needed to rent and renovate a space. I am still looking for the ‘perfect’ property to do this in, as I have in my thoughts somewhere that is small and looks like it would fit into an old English village.
I would like to open a craft cafe so that fellow minded people could meet up and share their skills and knowledge with other crafters. People in the community with various skills could run workshops so that people who wish to learn something new have the opportunity. In my area, there are no classes like this or any opportunity for people to learn new skills in crafts. Bringing people together in this way is a great idea and would certainly be welcomed by the large crafting community that already exists.

If you get too stressed, you might make some bad decisions and your business might fail because of them.

What are some of the advantages and disadvantages of small businesses compared to large companies?
One advantage of having a small business is that you don’t have to be lied down by company rules, regulations, and protocols. You are free to operate as you please and don’t have to worry about getting the approval of the CEO or some other person higher up on the ladder than you. There are some disadvantages, though, to having a small business. The main one is that if you’re not careful, the big businesses will put you out of business by slashing their prices or advertising heavily. You see, they can afford to make their prices lower than yours simply because they have more money.
How can small businesses benefit the people in their community?
Small businesses can cater to the whims and wishes of the people that they are near. They get to know their customers and can specialize in taking care of them. Small businesses can even watch out for community members: if they are used to seeing them and they notice a change in their routine, the business could report this to someone who would lie concerned about them. Having a small business, like a restaurant, for instance, creates a family-like feeling in the neighborhood, as opposed to going to McDonald’s for instance, where they don’t know you from Adam.
