Question 1: Do you like to see animals in the zoo? (Bạn có thích xem động vật trong sở thú không?)

Sample answer: Personally, watching animals in the zoo is one of all the child’s favorites but I don’t have positive feelings about animal confinement. Although wildlife is one of the most vital subjects at school, being caught in a cage affects their natural behavior significantly.

Với câu trả lời như trên, thí sinh đã nêu ra được quan điểm của mình về vấn đề được đề cập. Tuy nhiên, câu trả lời này chưa sử dụng các cấu trúc câu một cách cẩn thận và cách diễn đạt chưa thực sự rõ ràng và mạch lạc.

Chúng ta có thể nhận ra một số lỗi sau trong câu trả lời này:

• Personally => Cách mở đầu chủ quan. Bên cạnh đó, đây là một từ quá phổ biến, khiến câu trả lời trở nên nhàm chán, không gây được ấn tượng.

Question 2: What’s your favorite animal? Why? (Con vật yêu thích của bạn là gì? Tại sao?)

Sample answer: I have to say that my favorite one is cats. I can’t help with their cuteness and friendliness with people. I have a pet cat that can lift my spirits up when I’m in a bad mood. So it’s no doubt that many people keep cats as pets.

• Favorite one => Không trả lời được rõ ràng thứ bạn muốn nói đến là animal. Do đó, bạn nên nói là “favorite animal”
• I can’t help with => Sử dụng sai cụm động từ
• Lift my spirits up => Sửa thành “lift up my spirits”
• It’s no doubt that => Sửa thành “There’s no doubt that”. Tuy nhiên, sử dụng cụm từ này ở đây không thực sự phù hợp và thuyết phục. Thay vào đó, chúng ta có thể diễn đạt lại câu như sau: “We can see all around us that cats have a really obvious choice.”
