1. Tóm tắt kiến thức về so sánh bằng trong tiếng Anh

Trước khi làm các bài tập so sánh bằng thì bạn cần ôn lại kiến thức về cấu trúc, cách dùng về loại câu so sánh này.

1.1. Khái niệm và cách dùng so sánh bằng

So sánh bằng là một loại câu so sánh trong Tiếng Anh được dùng để so sánh 2 người, sự vật, sự việc tương đồng về đặc điểm, tính chất nào đó.

Ví dụ:

• This book is as interesting as the one I read last week. (Cuốn sách này cũng thú vị như cuốn sách tôi đọc tuần trước.)
• His new car is not as fast as mine. (Xe mới của anh ấy không nhanh bằng xe của tôi.)

1.2. Cấu trúc sánh ngang bằng trong tiếng Anh

Cấu trúc so sánh bằng sẽ bao gồm 2 cấu trúc cơ bản như sau:

1.2.1. Cấu trúc so sánh bằng với as…as…

Cấu trúc với tính từ

Công thức:

Khẳng định: S + to be + as + adj + as + O

Phủ định: S + to be + not + as + adj + as + O

Nghi vấn: To be + S + (not) + as + adj + as + O

Ví dụ:

• This car is as expensive as the one next to it. (Chiếc xe này đắt như chiếc bên cạnh nó.)
• This movie is not as interesting as the one I watched yesterday. (Bộ phim này không thú vị bằng bộ phim tôi đã xem ngày hôm qua.)
• Are these shoes as comfortable as the ones you tried on in Nike yesterday? (Những đôi giày này có thoải mái như đôi bạn thử tại Nike vào ngày hôm qua không?)

Cấu trúc với trạng từ

Công thức:

Khẳng định: S + V + as + adv + as + O

Phủ định: S + trợ động từ  + not + V + as + adv + as + O

Nghi vấn: Trợ động từ + S + (not) + as + adv + as + O

Ví dụ:

• The car moves as smoothly as a luxury vehicle. (Chiếc xe di chuyển mượt mà như một chiếc xe hạng sang.)
• The new computer does not work as efficiently as the old one. (Máy tính mới không hoạt động hiệu quả như cái cũ.)
• Does the train travel in Moscow as quietly as the electric tram? (Tàu điện ở Moscow có di chuyển yên tĩnh như xe điện không?)

Cấu trúc với danh từ

Công thức:

Khẳng định: S + V + as + much/many/little/few + N + as + O

Phủ định: S + trợ động từ  + not + V + as + much/many/little/few + N + as + O

Nghi vấn: Trợ động từ + S + V + (not) + as + much/ many/ little/ few + N + as + O

Ví dụ:

• Our team scored as many points as the opponent. (Đội của chúng tôi ghi được nhiều điểm như đối thủ.)
• This company did not produce as much profit as expected. (Công ty này không tạo ra nhiều lợi nhuận như dự kiến.)
• Did they spend as much time on the project environment as we did? (Họ đã dành nhiều thời gian cho dự án môi trường như chúng tôi chưa?)

1.2.2. Cấu trúc so sánh bằng với The same…as…

Cấu trúc:

Khẳng định: S + V + the same + (N) + as + O

Phủ định: S + V + not + the same + (N) + as + O

Ví dụ:

• They have the same interests as other members. (Họ có cùng sở thích với các thành viên khác.
• Her taste in music is not the same as her brother's. (Sở thích âm nhạc của cô ấy không giống như của anh trai cô ấy.)

1.3. Cấu trúc mở rộng của so sánh bằng

Not different from cũng có thể được sử dụng để diễn đạt ý so sánh bằng với ý nghĩa “không khác biệt”.

Cấu trúc:

S + to be + not + different from + O

Ví dụ:

• The goal of my team is not different from other teams. (Mục tiêu của đội tôi không khác với các đội khác.)
• Her views on the issue are not different from those of her colleagues. (Quan điểm của cô về vấn đề đó không khác với quan điểm của các đồng nghiệp.)

1.4. Cách chuyển đổi giữa 2 cấu trúc as ... as và The same ... as

Một dạng bài tập so sánh bằng sẽ yêu cầu bạn viết lại câu sử dụng The same … as.

Bạn có thể dễ dàng chinh phục dạng bài tập viết lại câu so sánh bằng này bằng cách chuyển đơn giản sau:

• Bước 1: Đổi từ “as” đầu tiên thành từ “the same”
• Bước 2: Đổi tính từ thành danh từ và giữ nguyên các thành phần còn lại.

Ví dụ:

The luxury motorbike is as expensive as my car. (Chiếc xe máy sang trọng cũng đắt như chiếc ô tô của tôi.)

-> The luxury motorbike is the same price as my car. (Chiếc xe máy sang trọng đó có giá ngang với chiếc ô tô của tôi..)

Gợi ý một số tính từ trong cấu trúc “as…as” chuyển sang danh từ trong cấu trúc “the same…as” :

As…as	the same…as
as wide as	the same width as
as high as	the same height as
as long as	the same length as
as old as	the same age as
as expensive as	the same price as
